So excited to attend 2018 Outpost at Camp Navarro that will be a weekend of workshops, panels and experiences that will blow my mind! I want to get back to me so when I was offered an invite I jumped at the chance to have the opportunity to get to nature and learn about life. For me this is going to be an adventure of ‘firsts’ starting with driving across California to Navarro! I’ve never driven more than three hours so am very excited that I’ll be in the new Nissan Kicks that will be good on gas, has all the tech bells and
I’m not sure what 2018 Outpost (Sept 6-9) will bring but if it’s anything like what happened at 2017 Outpost it’s going to be legendary! Here‘s a vid from last year to get you curiosity and adventurous spirit yearning for the great outdoors. I’m excited to attend the private VIP dinner on Thursday night to meet fellow influencers and attendees to discuss what are on our ‘Bucket Outpost List’. I know I have my eye on the falconry, drone-flying class and sound bath (what IS that!). Watching last years video has me so excited to push past my ‘city’ chick limits and awaken my outdoor crunchy adventurous woman who just might howl at the moon one night. Outpost is the perfect introduction to the wild woman/man within with the 3 day outdoor experience as I explore a more active lifestyle and get to know myself a little better.

The 2018 American Institute of Architects Film Challenge has added Marlene King (Pretty Little Liars, Famous in Love, Now and Then) is a new judge. The fourth annual is part of the AIA’s “Blueprint for Better” campaign. It’s an initiative that highlights the collaborative work of architects and civic leaders to solve some of the biggest issues facing cities today. The AIA Film Challenge premiered in June with the organization’s new film, “Caño Martin Peña: A Blueprint for Better,” which depicts the rebuilding efforts of an architect and community leader in Puerto Rico following last year’s devastating Hurricane Maria that left more than three million people without power. Ms. King’s production company Long Lake Media has several projects in development and is currently adapting the Sara Shepard novel series “The Perfectionists” for TV at Freeform (2019). Her experience and eye will be a great addition to the judging team!

If you would like to submit a documentary to the Film Challenge all participants should produce, shoot and edit the three to five minute documentary to tell a story about architects working with civic and community leaders to make a positive impact. Submissions for the Film Challenge—due by 8:59 p.m. EST on Monday, Aug. 27—will be subject to two rounds of judging. The first round of winners will be selected by a panel of jurors from the media, architecture and film industries. A second round will be open for public voting to choose the “People’s Choice Winner.” Last year’s People’s Choice competition yielded more than 268,000 votes. Participants will have the chance to win a $5,000 grand prize that includes distribution of the film through a multitude of channels, including screenings at the Architecture and Design Film Festival on Oct. 16 in New York in addition to travel and accommodations. The “People’s Choice Winner” will receive a screening at the Chicago Ideas Festival. Other finalists will be awarded a $500 prize.
Complete details are available on AIA’s Film Challenge website. Films from previous Film Challenge finalists can be watched online.

To celebrate Mother’s Day, I went to A Tutta Pizza!(LA Foodbowl) This event located in the Hollywood Palladium was sponsored by Nissan, Hornitos, Maker’s Mark, and Italia to name a few. La Foodbowl holds fabulous food events all throughout the LA region for the month of May in hope to help raise awareness and funds to combat food waste, hunger, food insecurity, and promote sustainability.
A Tutta Pizza was my first ever food event! I had a lot of fun navigating the scene to make sure I could sample pizza from each of the 20+ pizza vendors on site. Unfortunately, I was not able to achieve that goal, but the next time I attend a similar event I will make sure I visit each table. I enjoyed the carbo-load, and ate every pizza slice in my proximity.
Not only was there unlimited pizza, but LA Foodbowl also had workshops, panels, a photobooth, and a live DJ. I decided to attend the A’ Pizza! A Pizza Lab with Enzo Coccia workshop. There I was taught how to make pizza dough by hand like a true Italian. The workshop was led by Enzo Coccia. He even chose me to help him make deep fried pizza dough. On top of that, I met Jonathan Gold, renown restaurant critic for the LA Times. We even took a picture together.
I was very excited to see that many tables served margarita pizza, which is my favorite. I’m not ashamed to say, I stuffed my face with a few too many slices. As I said above, I attempted to make it around to each table, so I tried a variety of pizza flavors. I even tried pizza topped with purple brussel sprouts! It sounds crazy, but the pizza was both beautiful and tasty. You can’t say I didn’t eat any vegetables. My favorite pizza came from Ray’s and Stark Bar. Their pizza was topped with cute little purple flowers and the cheese was to die for. Personally the most important part of the pizza is cheese, that’s why I love margarita pizza so much. The Ray’s and Stark Bar pizza left a big impression on me and the other guests. It lined traveled across the festival site.
For other fun events visit http://lafoodbowl.com. Comment your favorite pizza below; mine is margarita and goat cheese pizza!

FX CELEBRATES SEASON 2 OF LEGION WITH INSTALLATION BY ACCLAIMED ARTIST MARCO BRAMBILLA STUDIO FROM MARCH 30 – APRIL 1 BEFORE THE S2 PREMIER OF LEGION (FX) TUESDAY, APRIL 3RD AT 10 PM ET/PT
Our aim was to create an experience that would take the viewer through multiple levels of Haller’s altered states of consciousness. A flood of moments, thoughts, and memories are reflected into fragmented mirrored surfaces, these kaleidoscopic reflections completely surround us and we have the sense of assuming the characters’ psychological POV. I produced “Fracture” with THE MILL, the world-renowned Visual Effects & Design Company with whom I’ve worked with many times before. Working together, we were able to achieve start-of-the-art production values for this immersive experience,” artist Marco Brambilla said.
I’m beyond excited to attend the opening of the 360 degree art exhibit of one of my favorite Marvel shows. I was curious when they announced Legion at SDCC two years ago but had no idea what to expect but from the first episode I knew this was unlike any other series on tv. The twists and turns, unexpected emotional connection and well it’s darned scary! Now with the premier just next week I can’t imagine the fan experience that FX has put together for all the lucky fangirls/fanboys in LA but I’m all in!
Any fan of the Marvel series LEGION has seen the madness but now we get to experience it in 360 degrees. Marco Brambilla Studio was inspired to create a one-of-a-kind presentation taking place at the Goya Studios in Hollywood. Fans will experience David’s altered states of reality as they try to figure out whats in their imagination and real as we count down the days to S2 from Noah Hawley, Executive Producer of the surreal drama.
On working with Brambilla, Kenya Hardaway, SVP of Integrated Promotions at FX said, “We are excited to have Marco Brambilla’s amazing artistic piece, FRACTURE, to share with fans of Legion. As admirers of his works, we believed his innovative style could present a new perspective on David Haller’s world. FRACTURE, does just that – captivating the audience through a marvelous visual display.”

Based on the Marvel Comics by Chris Claremont and Bill Sienkiewicz, Legion is the story of “David Haller” (Dan Stevens), a man who believed himself to be schizophrenic only to discover that he may actually be the most powerful mutant the world has ever seen.
From childhood, David shuffled from one psychiatric institution to the next until, in his early 30s, he met and fell in love with a beautiful and troubled fellow patient named “Syd” (Rachel Keller). After Syd and David shared a startling encounter, he was forced to confront the shocking possibility that the voices he hears and the visions he sees may actually be real. Syd led David to “Melanie Bird” (Jean Smart), a demanding but nurturing therapist who heads a team of specialists – “Ptonomy” (Jeremie Harris), “Kerry” (Amber Midthunder) and “Cary” (Bill Irwin) – each of whom possesses a unique and extraordinary gift. Together, they helped David to recognize and harness his hidden powers. With their support, David finally unlocked a deeply suppressed truth – he had been haunted his entire life by a malicious parasite of unimaginable power. Known as the “Shadow King,” this malevolent creature appeared in the form of David’s friend “Lenny” (Aubrey Plaza), but is actually an ancient being named “Amahl Farouk.” In an epic showdown, David and his friends battled his demon, ultimately forcing it from David’s body. Unfortunately, Farouk found a new host – Melanie’s husband “Oliver Bird” (Jemaine Clement) – and escaped. Just when they thought they’d earned a moment of respite, a mysterious orb appeared and took David away to an unknown place. With David and Oliver missing and Farouk on the loose, the team forms an unlikely alliance with their former enemy “Clark” (Hamish Linklater) and his well-funded government organization, Division III. Meanwhile, Amahl Farouk (Navid Negahban) is on a new path to attaining infinite and world-ending power.
Noah Hawley serves as Executive Producer, along with John C
ameron, Lauren Shuler Donner, Simon Kinberg, Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory. Legion is the latest project from Hawley and Cameron, two of the executive producers of the Emmy® and Golden Globe®-winning FX anthology series Fargo. Legion is produced by FX Productions and Marvel Television, with FXP handling the physical production.
