The 2013 Tony Award Winning Broadway Musical returns June 19- 24, 2018 to the Pantages Theatre
The 2013 Tony Award Winning Rodger’s + Hammerstein’s Cinderella isn’t the one your grandparents took you to see as a child. It’s kept the classic iconic elements of glass slippers, pumpkins and the grand ball but have added some modern changes to keep it fresh. That’s why it won the Tony! The reimagined Cinderella coming to the Pantages in 2018 is a more modern woman that happens to be in a fairy tale. Cinderella puts the sass in being the a scullery maid and won’t let the ‘man’ well her evil stepmother and sisters take away her spirt, kindness, compassion, forgiveness and heart full of love. She might be in rags but that glass slipper is just around the corner. This is the romcom musical where the girl from the wrong side of the tracks steals the prince’s heart with great dance steps and a song. Tickets for Rodgers + Hammerstein’s CINDERELLA are now available to current 2017-18 Hollywood Pantages Season Ticket Holders. Current season ticket holders may purchase online at www.HollywoodPantages.com

Orchestrations are by Bill Elliott and are adapted from the original Broadway orchestrations by Danny Troob.
One of Rodgers + Hammerstein’s most popular titles, Rodgers + Hammerstein’s CINDERELLA was written for television — debuting in 1957 starring Julie Andrews. In 2013, the show made its long-overdue Broadway debut. Along with CINDERELLA, Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein’s legendary musicals include OKLAHOMA!, Carousel, The King and I, South Pacific and The Sound of Music.
Mr. Beane’s book for Rodgers + Hammerstein’s CINDERELLA blends masterfully with the musical’s cherished score with songs including “In My Own Little Corner,” “Impossible/It’s Possible,” “Ten Minutes Ago” and “Do I Love You Because You’re Beautiful?”

The Pantages keep bring theatre fans back with a great selection of shows! I think any Broadway musical fan is salivating at the opportunity to see Tony Award Winner Lena Hall reprise her role as ‘Yitzhak’ in Hedwig and the Angry Itch. She’s joining the Broadway tour with two shows one for ONE WEEK ONLY in Los Angeles and San Francisco. Hall’s performance will mark the first time in Hedwig’s history that the same person will play both Hedwig and Yitzhak.
The National Tour will make it’s LA premiere at the Hollywood Pantages Theatre for four weeks from November 1 – 27, 2016. Hall will appear as Hedwig in the following performances in Los Angeles: Sunday, November 6 at 6:30 pm, Sunday, November 13 at 6:30 pm, Sunday, November 20 at 6:30 pm, and Friday, November 25 at 8:00 pm.
Lena Hall is reprising the role that earned her a Tony Award and the performance will excite Broadway fans who were unable to see the show in NYC. The 2014 Tony Award-winning Best Musical Revival will also include Darren Criss on the tour. The members of Hedwig’s band “The Angry Inch” — aka “Tits of Clay” – will be music director Justin Craig (guitar and keyboards), Matt Duncan (bass), Tim Mislock (guitar), and Peter Yanowitz (drums), all of whom originated their roles on Broadway.
Brilliantly innovative, heartbreaking, and wickedly funny, HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH is the landmark musical by John Cameron Mitchell and Stephen Trask that is “groundbreaking and undoubtedly ahead of its time” (Entertainment Weekly). This genre-bending, fourth-wall-smashing musical sensation, with a pulsing score and electrifying performances, tells the story of one of the most unique characters to ever hit the stage. “Internationally ignored song stylist” Hedwig Robinson (Darren Criss) is out to set the record straight about her life, her loves, and the botched operation that left her with that “angry inch.”
Directed by Tony Award-winner Michael Mayer (Spring Awakening) and winner of four 2014 Tony Awards, HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH played to record-breaking sell-out crowds on Broadway and promises to take North America by storm with what Time Magazine proclaims is “the most exciting rock score written for the theatre since, oh, ever!
David Binder, who first produced HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH in 1997, produced the musical on Broadway with Jayne Baron Sherman, Barbara Whitman, Latitude Link, Patrick Catullo, Raise The Roof, Paula Marie Black, Colin Callender, Ruth Hendel, Sharon Karmazin, Martian Entertainment, Stacey Mindich, Eric Schnall, and The Shubert Organization. 101 Productions, Ltd were the executive producers. The record-breaking production ran for over 500 performances at the Belasco Theatre.
The Chicago Tribune declares “LENA HALL IS THE EMOTIONAL ACE IN THE HOLE.”
Hall, thrilled at the opportunity to explore and express this double role, explains, “I’m thrilled to be returning to HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH performing not one, but two iconic roles in Los Angeles and my hometown of San Francisco. I have never been one to shy away from a challenge and playing Hedwig has always been a dream of mine. To be able to play both Yitzhak and Hedwig in the same day presents one of the biggest challenges I have seen to date and I’m so excited! Not only will I get to share the stage with my fellow San Francisco native and friend Darren Criss; but I will also get a chance to begin my own journey as the glam rock heroine Hedwig. To tell her story in my hometown and in Los Angeles is the greatest homecoming I can think of, and I am looking forward to sharing this journey with my friends, family and Hedheads.”
I know that I’m very excited to see a Tony Award winner and am thankful that the Pantages has the clout to bring in such stellar shows! In a groundbreaking twist, Lena Hall will also play the role of Hedwig for one performance a week in San Francisco and Los Angeles. It is a rare

occasion for a Tony Award winner to go on national tour, and historic for the same person to play both Hedwig and Yitzhak. Book writer John Cameron Mitchell enthused, “Oh my Goddess, Lena Hall is the only talent I know who could play a brilliant Yitzhak and Hedwig in the same production. Talk about finding your other half. It’s Hedwig history in the making.”
About the casting of Hall, composer and lyricist Stephen Trask exclaimed, “I love Lena so much. I’ve traveled and performed with her a lot in the last couple years. She’s a kindred spirit and a brilliant, one-of-a-kind, came-out-of-the-sky kind of performer. Everyone who has the chance to see her as Yitzhak should consider themselves really, really lucky.”
Tony Winner and Grammy nominee Lena Hall just completed touring the US and Canada with Josh Groban on the Stages tour and ended her critically acclaimed run starring as Yitzhak in the hit Broadway revival of Hedwig and the Angry Inch for which she won the 2014 Tony Award for Featured Actress in a Musical. Prior to Hedwig, she starred as Nicola in the Tony Award winning musical Kinky Boots. Lena sold out her solo shows at the legendary Café Carlyle, Feinsteins / 54 Below and Feinsteins San Francisco and her live album “Sin & Salvation: Live At the Carlyle” can be found on iTunes, CD Baby, Amazon, et al. Previous Broadway and Off-Broadway roles include starring in the award-winning Toxic Avenger at New World Stages, Tarzan (Original Cast), Dracula (Original Cast), 42nd Street (Anytime Annie), Cats (Demeter), Beg Bugs (NYMF) and Green Eyes (Fringe). TV and film roles include guest roles on HBO’s “Girls,” “Good Girls Revolt” (Amazon Prime), and “My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic.” Born and raised in San Francisco’s Haight Ashbury, Lena Hall traveled the world as a young performer, receiving her first big break singing for Pope John Paul II at Candlestick Stadium for over 50,000 people at the age of 7. As a teenager Hall was a member of the Young People’s Teen Musical Theatre Company in San Francisco and eventually joined the national tour of Cats. Lena currently resides in New York City.

The smash-hit musical that brings together four-time Tony® Award-winner Harvey Fierstein (Book) and Grammy® Award-winning rock icon Cyndi Lauper Tony Award-winner for Best Score is at the Pantages from April 13 – 24, 2016.
You have to head to Hollywood and have a blast with the Kinky Boots touring show at the Pantages till April 24th. I went with my bestie Briian and we were smitten from the opening song! I adore the interpretation of the musical
from my beloved film since it’s not mimicking it but instead takes overall message of respect, individuality, friendship and shoe love!
This is the first time I’ve seen the Tony Award winning musical and was ecstatic to hear that Kinky Boots was returning to the Hollywood Pantages Theatre. The music is from Cyndi Lauper, pop queen and Grammy and Tony Award winner and choreography with the two time Tony Award winner Jerry Mitchell all of this feet tapping was from four time Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein. But the heart of the musical is how it reached everyone in the audience. One of my favorite songs is the duet ‘Not my Father’s Son’ with Lola & Charlie cementing the basis of their connection and friendship. Really all the music was part of the tapestry of reminding all of us to accept others and let people be themselves. It’s such a human connection that translates to people from all walks of life and all over the world that it transcends boots .. even kinky boots! In case you never saw the movie and don’t get the ‘red boots’ this is a story of Charlie Price a young man who was trying to chart his own path to London when his father dies unexpectedly and he’s called pack to his small town with the weight of a shoe factory bearing down on him. As he tries to figure out how to keep the doors open after a return disaster he stumbles upon Lola being accosted by ruffians on the street. He play Prince Charming out to rescue the damsel in distress who turns out that the glass slipper isn’t fitting quite right. But from a night of unexpected surprises we go from London to Northampton, England to the Milan, Italy Shoe Fashion Week catwalks … well what happens between is what makes it Kinky Boots.
This is a fabulous show with such humor interwoven with a core hurt that I had tears in my eyes as I was laughing. It’s a show that is musical magic and will make you want to run out and buy 5 inch heels .. if you can walk in them as well as the cast dances in costumes that dazzled my eyes. Especially the boots .. I LOVED the boots! The chemistry between J. Harrison Ghee (Lola) and Adam Kaplan (Charlie Price) are the bedrock that the rest of cast rises with to belt out songs who’s message is timeless. I don’t want to give away too much but if your a fan of the movie GO SEE THIS MUSICAL! If you’ve never seen the movie .. GO SEE THIS MUSICAL! It’s a rare treat that is as delightful as finding the perfect shoes that are cute AND comfortable! The show is at the Pantages from now until April 24th.
Saying hi to Cyndi Lauper’s Hollywood Star!

ABOUT THE SHOW: Inspired by true events, KINKY BOOTS takes you from a gentlemen’s shoe factory in Northampton to the glamorous catwalks of Milan. Am so excited that Brandy is going to play Roxie Hart at the Pantages! I can’t believe the little girl who sang ‘I wanna be down’ is down for this sexy Broadway tour! I’m sure that her voice will add a new dimension to Roxie.
I might have to read the book by Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse and of course I already know the music by John Kander and lyrics by Fred Ebb.
Brandy Norwood as Roxie Hart, with Denny Paschall (l.) and Michael Scirrotto (r.)
It’s exciting to see CHICAGO here at that Pantages it’s #1 longest-running American musical in Broadway history.

It’s exciting that Brandy Norwood who made her Broadway debut as “Roxie Hart” from April 28th through August 2nd 2015 in a limited run on Broadway. I met Brandy with her multi-platinum self-titled debut album and got to know her as the star of ‘Moesha’. She made history starring in Disney’s Cinderella as its first black princess with Whitney Houston. Not that she’s rested on her laurels she’s been putting out music and starring in TV shows with winning at 2014 NAACP Image Award playing Chardonnay on BET’s ‘The Game’.
Her next project is a new series called ‘Zoe Ever After’ on BET where she plays Zoe Moon (Norwood). It’s a comedy that focuses on Zoe as she navigates life as a divorcee from a famous boxer as she forges a new path of dating, being a single mom and being the ‘boss’ of her own cosmetic line! It’s the summer of 1963, and 17-year-old Frances `Baby’ Houseman is on vacation in New York’s Catskill Mountains with her older sister and parents. Baby discovers her own entertainment when she stumbles upon the staff quarters where an all-night dance party is in full swing. Mesmerized by the raunchy dance moves and the pounding rhythms, Baby can’t wait to be part of the scene, especially when she catches sight of Johnny Castle, the resort dance instructor. Baby’s life is about to change forever as she is thrown in at the deep end as Johnny’s leading lady both on-stage and off with breathtaking consequences.

Am so excited to attend the opening night of If/Then starring Idina Menzel, LaCHANZE, Anthony Rapp and James Snyder from Broadway. The show will be at the Pantages from December 6 – January 3, 2016 as one of the Broadway tour.
As I wait for the show to start am excited that I’m in row R in the orchestra right in the midst of the buzz of excited attendees. Gosh I’m so close I could jump on stage and sing ‘Let it Go’? just kidding way too intimidated by the Tony award winning cast!
In case you don’t follow Broadway If/Then is a musical about what might have been if you made a different choice. Idina plays Elizabeth who moves to NYC after getting divorced to start anew. She is surrounded by new and old friends with the first scene setting up the paths her life takes depending on if she answers the phone or agrees to go on a date with a handsome stranger.
