The second season of the Netflix series ‘Dear White People‘ has dug even deeper into race, sexual norms, classism, ‘good negro’ and homosexuality AND detoured into white nationalism with a season finale that had me SHOOK! I’m hoping to have the chance to ask Justing Simien, Creator, Writer, Executive Producer & Showrunner about his surgical casting of new guest stars (Tessa Thompson star of the original film AND Giancarlo Esposito star of School Daze AND Better Call Saul), the inspiration for the new mystery, and the interweaving of history this season that had me laughing and thinking simultaneously!An Evening with "Dear White People"

It’s that time of the year to plan spring/summer fun and am so excited about the upcoming schedule for Street Food Cinema in Los Angeles! Season 7 is kicking off 420 style with Richard Linklater’s “Dazed and Confused” screening Saturday, April 28th at the LA State Historic Park with special guests Sasha Jenson “Don” & Wiley Wiggins “Mitch” for a Q&A before the film starts at 8:30pm. Arrive early because doors open at 5:30pm so that you can grab some grub, find a good spot and than enjoy live music from Reckless at 6:30pm.

It’s not Street Food Cinema without food and so they have a selection of munchies for any appetite including Baby’s Badass Burgers, Belly Bombz, Cousins Maine Lobster, Keep it C’asian, Okamoto, Pinch of Flavor, Prince of Venice, Richeeze Melts, Sabores de Mexico, The Shrimp and Taco Stop, Spitz, White Rabbit, Word of Mouth, Dream Donut, Recess Truck, and more will be onsite!

Our 7th season offers so many exciting titles, beginning with the incredible 2018 Oscar nominees “Get Out” and “I, Tonya” on May 5th,“The Greatest Showman” on June 16th, “Lady Bird” on July 21st and “Coco” on October 27th. As well as anniversary screenings for beloved fan favorites “Dazed & Confused” starting our season on April 28th, “The Land Before Time” on May 19th, “The Big Lebowski” on June 9th, “Mrs. Doubtfire” on June 16th, “Stand and Deliver” on June 23rd, “The Sandlot”  on June 30th, “Grease” on July 21st, “Mamma Mia!” on August 4th, “Casablanca” on August 25th, “The Wedding Singer” on September 1st, “Nick & Nora’s Infinite Playlist” on September 8th, “Practical Magic” and “The Nightmare Before Christmas” on September 29th and “Twilight” and the original cult classic “Halloween” on October 13th. We’ll also debut our first double-feature PJ party “The Craft” & “Teen Witch” on September 15th. Now in it’s 7th season , Street Food Cinema is LA’s largest outdoor movie experience, combining carefully cultivated experiences  with outdoor movies, street food, audience games, live music and more. We’d love to have you join us this season for 27 weeks, 11 locations and more than 50 fantastic events!

This ultimate outdoor movie experience founded in 2012 by the dynamic husband and wife team of Steve Allison & Heather Hope-Allison, has developed a strong community of entertainment and food enthusiasts across Los Angeles.  Every Saturday throughout the summer, Street Food Cinema features beloved cult classic movies on a huge 50 foot screen alongside LA’s favorite food trucks like Cousins Maine Lobster, Street Kitchen LA and Churro Stix as well as emerging music artists such as Alex G., Past Action Heroes and The Urban Renewal Project: punctuated with themed audience games hosted by professional comedians to complete the interactive experience. Their Season 6 opener in 2017 was the worlds biggest La La Land screening AND the biggest Street Food Cinema to date at over 5,000 attendees.  With their visionary idea to take the outdoor movie experience to fully inclusive night out –they incorporated a variety of fascinating food trucks, pre-movie live entertainment and cool interactive experiences to massive audience appeal in three major markets: Los Angeles, San Diego and Phoenix.
