The annual MTV Fandom Award show is airing July 24 8/7 C time in San Diego. It’s an award show that gives fangirls and boys the chance to vote for the best fandoms and best ships. Some of the categories are Ship of the Year, Animation Fandom of the Year, and Bandom of the Year.

I of course am very excited for the Ship of the Year category because I am a huge shipper, I ship everyone and everything. For people who don’t know what shipping is, shipping is when you want two or more people to end up together canon or noncanon. Sadly, my all time favorite ship, Kylux, is not featured, but Stormpilot is so that makes up for the lost. But there are other exciting categories; even Jon Snow’s resurrection is featured along with Han Solo’s death (sad face).

MTV Fandom Awards Categories

Animation Fandom of the Year:

  1. Adventure Time
  2. Gravity Falls
  3. Inside Out
  4. Steven Universe
  5. Zootopia
  6. Rick and Morty

Bandom of the Year

  1. 5SOS
  2. The 1975
  3. All Time Low
  4. Pierce the Veil
  5. Twenty One Pilots
  6. Panic! at the Disco

Fan Freakout of the Year

  1. Game of Thrones: Resurrection of Jon Snow
  2. Mr. Robot: Mr. Robot revealed
  3. Walking Dead: Glenn’s Death Scare
  4. Star Wars: The Force Awakens: Death of a Legend
  5. Pretty Little Liars: Spence and Caleb Hook Up
  6. The 100: RIP Lexa

Best New Fandom of the Year

  1. Jessica Jones
  2. Hamilton
  3. Mr. Robot
  4. Scream
  5. Suicide Squad
  6. Shadowhunters: the Mortal Instruments

Best Revival Fandom of the Year

  1. Baywatch
  2. Fuller House
  3. Gilmore Girls
  4. Harry Potter
  5. High School Musical
  6. The X-Files

Ship of the Year

  1. Clexa
  2. Malec
  3. Olicity
  4. Stucky
  5. Stydia
  6. Westallen
  7. StormPilot

Fandom of the Year

  1. Teen Wolf
  2. Arrow
  3. Maze runner: The Scorch Trials
  4. Supernatural

I have casted my votes already. Hopefully Teen Wolf will win Fandom of the Year even though Supernatural is in the lead.

If you want to vote you can click this link but for certain categories you have to post on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, or Tumblr. But that is for the big categories like Fandom of the Year or Ship of the Year.

Make sure to vote for your fandom before it’s too late. It’s time to prove that your fandom is truly the best.

I want to head to Washington, DC for the festival to attend the talk with William Shatner as he reminisces about 50 years of Star Trek and his new book about Leonard Nimoy (Spock). How can you calculate the cost of meeting the original Captain Kirk and get to sit in the designated seating area to hear the SyFy channels panel on 12 Monkeys. Well it costs $150 and has limited availability for this exclusive book signing.

The Death Star Barbecue has the power to annihilate an entire chicken. Or, in the right hands, cook an al fresco feast in classic, sci-fi style.

That’s no moon… It’s the sun! And if it’s hovering over the house it means barbecue season is upon us. But don’t settle for your run-of-the-mill sputniks, dazzle your guests and terrorise the outer rim planets with the Death Star BBQ.

This officially licensed outdoor grill is made from stainless steel – so even if you’ve strafed it with a rebel sausage, it’ll still buff up like new. The intricate detailing isn’t just there for show either. Cleverly disguised as a devastating laser, the lid of the Death Star BBQ has an adjustable thermal vent – perfect for regulating heat. Just keep an eye out for X-wings.

IMG_2332Calling all Star Wars fans you HAVE to go to the 2015 LA Auto Show for ONE reason! No not to look at cars (well you have to look at cars!) but no the the most important reason ever is to see the Fiat 500e Storm Trooper Concept car on display (sadly at this time Fiat does IMG_2329not plan to release it as a special edition <waahhh>) inspired by the new ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens‘ opening December 18. While you count down the days to see the most anticipated movie this year you can get your Star Wars fix drooling over this car a collaboration with Lucasfilm and FCA US as part of the promotional campaign of the film. I was very lucky to be able to briefly film the interior of the car and interview Bob Broderdorf, Fiat Brand Director North AmericaIMG_2335!

From the first glance of the Fiat 500e you can see it’s inspired by the Empire’s First Order Stormtrooper’s new armor (tour of interior and exterior of car cherrylosangeles @youtube). The 500e is in black and white on the exterior from the tires to the hood with an attention to detail that is appealing to die hard and casual fans. But Fiat also kept it team Empire on the inside with custom front and rear seats upholstered in leather and Alcantara®. The entire interior has the ‘Star Wars’ logo and First Order insignia on the leather wrapped steering wheel, the black/white dashboard and that all of the Fiat emblems have been replaced with the Stormtrooper helmet.  The Fiat 500e stormtrooper was created by Garage Italia Customs and they merged Italian style with Star Wars Geek Chic! Even Princess Leia wouldn’t mind being placed under ‘car arrest’ and driven around the death star <guffaw>.

About FIAT Brand
The FIAT brand stands for discovery through passionate self-expression. That philosophy is embodied by the iconic Fiat 500 or Cinquecento – a small car that lives big. Italian at heart and rooted in a rich heritage, the 500 is sold in more than 100 countries around the world and is synonymous with modern, simple design blending form, function, technology and a pride of ownership that is genuine.

In North America, the Fiat 500 was introduced in March 2011 and was soon followed by the Fiat 500c (Cabrio), the high-performance Fiat 500 Abarth and Abarth Cabrio, the fully electric Fiat 500e and the five-passenger Fiat 500L. The FIAT brand continues to expand with the introduction of the Fiat 500X, an all-new crossover that combines Italian style with functionality, performance and all-wheel drive confidence. The all-new Fiat 500X arrived at FIAT studios in the second quarter of 2015.

Displaying 1000400149DVDLEFO.JPGI’m pretty stoked about the newest installment of the JLA movies coming out today.   The have some of my favorite members from Cyborg to Superman to Wonder Woman to Hawkgirl and more all ready to kick some badguy ass! Hmm I don’t want to be sexist so they’ll be kicking some badGAL ass too!  All’s fair to fight villainy! The animation is very much in the style expected with bright colors, sharp edges and a very muscular superhero body that is popular at this time.

JLA ADVENTURES: TRAPPED IN TIME has the Justice League fighting the Legion of Doom (Lex Luthor, Cheetah, Solomon Grundy, Bizarro, Gorilla Grodd, Black Manta, Toyman and Captain Cold) with the help of the Time Trapper to as usual pursue trouble across time and space!  Will our heroes be able to stop them??? If your curious head over to Target and grab the newest direct to DVD  and  digital stream movie from  Warner Bros. Animation.  Now this isn’t as dark as some of their other films since this is targeted to tie into their Target Justice League toyline and so is very kid friendly.

So check out the latest JLA movie starring Superman (voiced by Peter Jessop), Cyborg and Batman (voiced by Diedrich Bader) and let me know who’s your favorite villain or hero??

Star Wars: Clone Wars PosterAs a total fanboy .. well fangirl it was really fun to interview Dave Filoni the director of Cartoon Network’s (CN) Star Wars: the Clone Wars.  I got the opportunity to ask him about the upcoming Season 5 of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars television series that’s scheduled to air in September of 2012 about what it’s like to work with George Lucas, being on the Skywalker Ranch of and of course projecting my own geeky curiosity.  I’m sure I’m not the only person who grew up loving Star Wars and fantasized about working for George Lucas .. well in my case BEING George Lucas able to create stories out of my dreams, characters that would move the story closer to my fantasy (Jar Jar NEVER existed!).  It was really fun chatting with him about growing up and into the man who’s helming Star Wars the Clone Was and I got a great interview which has been uploaded to cherrylosangeles @youtube.

Now for a lot of people you’ll have seen his work but may not know his name since he’s behind the camera.  First off he’s the director of the the 2008 feature film Star Wars: The Clone Wars (animated) and the supervising director of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars TV series on Cartoon Network.  He’s directed animated series on a variety of networks including Nickolodeon’s the Last Airbender, ABC’s the Oblongs, Fox’s King of the Hill and Disney’s American Dragon: Jake Long.
