You know it’s the end of summer when you get to enjoy some of the best food around with the Los Angeles’ Times the Taste!
I’ve gone a few times over the years and have always been delighted with the introduction to new chefs, great food, wine and ideas with the cooking demos! This year looks like it’s going to be even better as we raise a glass to Jonathan Gold who passed away earlier this year. In his honor they will have special programming at each event for the beloved restaurant critic who’s passion for food and respect for the culture of cuisine won him a Pulitzer and special place in every food lovers heart.

It’s the summer of 1963, and 17-year-old Frances `Baby’ Houseman is on vacation in New York’s Catskill Mountains with her older sister and parents. Baby discovers her own entertainment when she stumbles upon the staff quarters where an all-night dance party is in full swing. Mesmerized by the raunchy dance moves and the pounding rhythms, Baby can’t wait to be part of the scene, especially when she catches sight of Johnny Castle, the resort dance instructor. Baby’s life is about to change forever as she is thrown in at the deep end as Johnny’s leading lady both on-stage and off with breathtaking consequences.
