It’s Deborah Cox’s world and we are just living in it! I wasn’t sure what to expect from the first U.S. National tour of The Bodyguard at the Hollywood Pantages Theatre. I expected a few iconic Whitney Houston and a reenactment of the 1992 Oscar nominated film by Lawrence Kasdan but this is a London West End musical show and WHAT a show!
I got more than I expected from the shocking opening moment that got my heart pounding with gunfire and a video montage of the work famous Rachel Marron played by Grammy® Award-nominated and multi-platinum R&B/pop recording artist and film/TV actress Deborah Cox and Judson Mill as Frank Farmer the bodyguard who steals her heart.
This is a departure from the film that sprinkles movie magic but weaves Deborah’s voice throughout. She’s not playing Whitney Houston but instead makes the role her own. I don’t want to give anything away but the show has a great fast pace with a supporting cast that surrounds Deborah as they twinkle on the stage.
Don’t worry the classic scene where Frank sweeps Rachel into his arms was played out with talented background dancers that gave a frantic feel necessary to make the scene chaotic and exciting. The strobing lights, the music, the movement and feints had me wondering how it would look and I for one <gasped> it was DAMNED sexy and really looked good on the stage.
I really enjoyed having my musical with a little suspense and lots of great singing by Jasmin Richardson (Nicki Marron) and Kevelin B. Jones III (Fletcher) as well as the supporting cast. I really enjoyed the change in the sister relathinshiop between Rachel & Nicki with deep abiding love at war with jealous rivalry. The father son vibe between Frank and Fletcher was sweet and would appeal to anyone who wants a family of their own.
If you’re a huge fan of the film and think this hits all the same dots be ready for a surprise because they changed some major plot points to keep the pace of the show fast as well as create emotional connection with the audience. I’d like to say that I’m a Rachel but am more like a Nicki!
I’m very excited to have seen the show and really recommend it to fans of musicals, Deborah Cox and (of course) Whitney Houston! Watching the Bodyguard was like watching a an album with the music keeping the story on pace and the voices of the cast soaring to the heavens with music that had me tapping my feet all night long. Make sure you stay till the lights come on because the cast has a special treat that will have everyone dancing out onto the street!
Former Secret Service agent turned bodyguard, Frank Farmer, is hired to protect superstar Rachel Marron from an unknown stalker. Each expects to be in charge; what they don’t expect is to fall in love. A romantic thriller, THE BODYGUARD features a host of irresistible classics including So Emotional, One Moment in Time, Saving All My Love, Run to You, I Have Nothing, I Wanna Dance with Somebody and one of the biggest selling songs of all time – I Will Always Love You.

Celebrate the original cast of the 1960’s Batman series with Adam West, Burt Ward and Julie Newmar in the new Warner Bros. Home Entertainment animated feature file Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders. The film will be released November 1st on Blu-Ray Combo Pack, DVD & Digital HD.
“Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders is an excellent addition to the ever-growing canon of Batman entertainment, offering a fun, playful animated version of the character’s adventures,” said Mary Ellen Thomas, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Vice President, Family & Animation Marketing. “Warner Bros. Home Entertainment is proud to initiate a series of animated movies – under the new ‘DC Classics Collection’ brand – and honored to have Adam West, Burt Ward and Julie Newmar give life to these iconic characters.”
It’s back to the 1960s as Batman and Robin spring into action when Gotham City is threatened by a quartet of Batman’s most fiendish foes – Penguin, The Joker, Riddler and Catwoman. The four Super-Villains have combined their wicked talents to hatch a plot so nefarious that the Dynamic Duo will need to go to outer space (and back) to foil their arch enemies and restore order in Gotham City. It’s a truly fantastic adventure that will pit good against evil, good against good, evil against evil … and feature two words that exponentially raise the stakes for both sides: Replicator Ray. Holy Multiplication Tables!
You can meet the cast of the original series at the upcoming Stan Lee’s L.A. Comic Con this weekend in Los Angeles and see Batman BEFORE the Dark Knight phenomena when it was all funs, giggles and we had the Bat Signal!
Warner Bros. Animation and DC Entertainment take Batman fans on a journey into the iconic past with the full-length animated Batman feature film – Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders. The film features the vocal performances of Adam West (Batman), Burt Ward (Robin) and Julie Newmar (Catwoman). Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders will be available November 1, 2016 on Blu-ray™ Combo Pack ($24.98 SRP) and DVD ($19.98 SRP).
The new film is a return to the classic 1960’s TV series staring Adam West (Batman), Burt Ward (Robin) and Julie Newmar (Catwoman) reprising the roles that make them beloved icons. Rick Morales (LEGO® DC Comics Super Heroes – Justice League: Cosmic Clash) directs from a script by Michael Jelenic (Teen Titans Go!) and James Tucker (Justice League vs. Teen Titans). Tucker and Jelenic also serve as Supervising Producer and Producer, respectively, on the film. Sam Register is Executive Producer. Benjamin Melniker and Michael Uslan are Executive Producers.
Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders Blu-ray™ Enhanced Content includes:
- “Those Dastardly Desperados” featurette – Joker, Catwoman, Penguin and Riddler are impossible not to watch! Those Dastardly Desperados explores how these fiends became more than just antagonists in a Batman story; they became icons in American pop culture.
- “A Classic Cadre of Voices” featurette – A new talented cast of actors join Adam West, Burt Ward and Julie Newmar in Batman: Return of The Caped Crusaders. Go behind the scenes and witness the vocal techniques and timing needed to deliver a classic Bat-Comedy!

Television’s have released official comic con 2016 interactive bags coming in 18 awesome designs for fans to collect their swag in. The bags now feature an interactive component through the Blippar app, which unlocks an augmented reality experience. Ian Somerhalder of the Vampire Diaries displays how to use the app with the bag.
More than 135000 bags will be released to Comic-Con attendees and the designs featured on the bags are inspired from hit shows and upcoming films Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, The 100, Arrow, The Big Bang theory, Blindspot, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, The Flash, Gotham, iZOMBIE, Suicide Squad, Lucifer, Supergirl, Supernatural, and a combo bag featuring The Originals and The Vampire Diaries.
I want the Vampire Diaries/the Original Bag and hope Cherry will grab me one AND get it signed by the cast <hint hint>
Are you attending San Diego Comic Con 2016? Tell us what bag do you hope to grab and why? What’s your favorite WB TV show? Leave a comment below and post your bag on twitter with #WBSDCC #WBSDCCBag.
As a TVD and Originals superfan I automatically go to the combo bag featuring both shows. I mean who wouldn’t love a bag featuring Ian Somerhalder or Joesph Morgan. The front features a combined image of infamous V and O intermingled. And when you lift the cover on top there is an image of Stefan and Damon Salvatore and on the bottom features an image of the Originals’ squad. The bag showcases the darkness of each show by excluding the bright colors from the bag. All of the bags are aesthetically pleasing especially the Teen Titans Go!, Vixen, and DCS LEGENDS of TOMORROW.
All of the bags have three panels of artwork, designed by Warner Bros. Worldwide Television Marketing. One side of the bag features a velcro-fastened cover flap featuring a classic show-related image that opens to show a unique show-related design and the back of the bag includes the new Comic-Con 2016 design.

It’s Barnes and Nobles Free Fridays with ebook, app AND videos! Thanks B&N for this special October 10th treat with extra videos and DC Comics Fall TV series in honor of New York Comic Con! I have to say that The Flash first episode was well done just the right amount of backstory (for newbies) and action for fans of the genre. I’m finding Gotham to be a bit boring! It might be that you never get a chance to miss Batman (I just can’t escape the character from animated series to movies he’s freaking everywhere on 24 hours!). Arrow looks like it’s returning to the heart stopping great action from the first season after veering off into a love story (blech). Constantine is still a mystery for me even after interviewing the cast (youtube) at SDCC don’t know much about the series.

It’s that time of the year and you know what that means … CRAZED competition to get the SDCC ‘It’ bag. Last year I finally got a Supernatural bag had to beg and barter (but not steal) to get my Winchesters but now well I’m thinking should I switch it up with a new favorite show? I fell in love with the Originals (gotta love a sexy chocolate vampire .. but I like the vanilla ones too!!! tee hee) or the Following (deranged psychopath or former FBI agent??? both are way too bad for me to date!) but I do like the graphics of the Flash and Gotham … so many choices but you can only get one so make sure you pick the right line! Or get ready to beg somebody for the bag of your geek dreams!!!
