Fall is fast approaching and tickets will go on sale for the upcoming 12th Annual PaleyFest Fall TV Previews from September 6 – 16th in Beverly Hills. PaleyFest Fall TV Previews New York City fans will be able to enjoy free screenings from September 7 – 9th. This year the PaleyFest Fall TV Previews will have screenings, cast and creatives from ABC, CBS, the CW, Fox, History, Hulu, Lifetime, NBC, Netflix and Telemundo!

I’m a HUGE TV Fan so I always look forward to the PaleyFest Fall TV Preview. Over the years it’s given me a chance to ‘meet’ TV shows that I hadn’t planned to watch but after seeing the first first episode and hearing the cast/creators talk I am willing to give them a ‘test watch’ or sometimes an unexpected fan (I’m looking at YOU the CW Dynasty!). This year they have Netflix’s Bojack a animated series that is really good and has characters that I see reflected in myself despite not being a talking horse, dog or cat! As far as the new shows I’m curious about the Charmed (the CW) reboot with Latina flavor and the Rookie (ABC) since I have a weakness for police dramadies but am willing to give all the shows the networks selected to highlight a chance but not Last Man Standing (Fox) didn’t like it on ABC so am sure I won’t like the continuation with move to the new network.

“Every September television fans know PaleyFest Fall TV Previews is the place to be for a first look at the most buzz-worthy new shows of the fall TV season, and engaging conversation and insight from the cast and creative teams behind them,” said Maureen J. Reidy, the Paley Center’s President & CEO. “We’re honored to present this stellar lineup of new shows as well as several Emmy-nominated returning fan favorites.

Citi is the Official Card of the PaleyFest Fall TV Previews with advance access to Citi cardmembers before they are available to the public. Paley Center Supporting and Patron Members can also purchase tickets and festival passes starting today. The Paley Center is welcoming old favorites and new series that I’m interested in watching from major networks and streaming services. The PaleyFest Fall TV Preview with Netflix’s Atypical and BoJack Horseman, followed by screenings and discussions with the casts and creatives of Hulu’s I Love You, America with Sarah Silverman and Castle Rock; ABC’s The Kids Are Alright and The Rookie; The CW’s All American and Charmed; Lifetime’s YOU; History’s Project Blue Book; EPIX’s Get Shorty; NBC’s I Feel Bad; CBS’s The Neighborhood and Happy Together; Fox’s The Cool Kids and Last Man Standing; and conclude on September 16 with the cast and creative team from Telemundo’s Nicky Jam: El Ganador.

Are you celebrating 50 years of Star Trek at the Egyptian Theatre? Any fan has to head to hollywood and enjoy the beloved series with Q&A, special giveaways and saying goodbye to Nimoy. It’s been a long time since the original Star Trek films have been on the big screen and thanks to The American Cinematheque, Geek Magazine & Paramount Home Video we can celebrate

STAR TREK at 50

I’m hoping to have the opportunity to talk with Adam Nimoy about his father, Spock and his documentary.

Special Guests, Bonus Featurettes, Giveaways, New Documentary ‘FOR THE LOVE OF SPOCK,’ Booksignings, Photo Opportunity and more surprises!

September 9 – 16, 2016 at the Egyptian Theatre

Space … the final frontier” opened up to television viewers on September 8, 1966 with the NBC-TV premiere of “Star Trek.” Creator Gene Roddenberry had envisioned the sci-fi series as the interstellar answer to the popular Western “Wagon Train” but couldn’t have possibly imagined how long the “five-year mission” of the U.S.S. Enterprise would last – cancelled after three seasons (and an unprecedented fan letter campaign to keep it on the air), the program spawned animated and live action TV spinoffs and an ongoing series of big screen adventures.

In 1979, Robert Wise’s STAR TREK: THE MOTION PICTURE kicked off a mania for TV-to-movie adaptations that has thrived ever since and spawned multiple sequels. To celebrate a half-century of “Star Trek,” we present the new documentary on star Leonard NimoyFOR THE LOVE OF SPOCK, and five of the first features following Captain Kirk, Mr. Spock, Dr. McCoy, Scotty, Uhura, Sulu and Chekov across the galaxy. These films embody the ideals of sci-fi’s first franchise that have endured for 50 years; may they continue to live long and prosper for many more.

Los Angeles, CA 90013
Food Forward-Food Forward rescues fresh local produce that would otherwise go to waste, connecting this abundance with people in need, and inspiring others to do the same.
HoneyLove – HoneyLove is a Los Angeles based non-profit conservation organization with a mission to protect the honeybees by educating our communities and inspiring new urban beekeepers.
Muir Ranch Pasadena – In 2011, a dedicated team of volunteer teachers and students began converting 1.5 acres of the John Muir High School campus into an urban farm. Muir Ranch grows a variety of flowers, vegetables and fruit that are included in weekly CSA boxes as well as school cafeteria lunches. Students can complete community service or internship graduation requirements by enrolling in classes at the Ranch. Muir Ranch also provides paid internships to students, which are funded by private donations, special events, farmer’s market sales, and subscriptions to the produce box program (CSA).
Hollywood Orchard– To better neighborhood quality of life by operating a community orchard that is a teaching model for sustainability through its workshops on growing fruit locally, and sharing the food in open-air events held in the Beachwood Canyon community, outreach communities, and food-charity organizations.
FoLAR Is a non-profit organization founded in 1986, whose mission is to protect and restore the natural and historic heritage of the Los Angeles River and its riparian habitat through inclusive planning, education and wise stewardship. Once home to steelhead and grizzlies, the Los Angeles River meandered through wetlands, marshes, willow, alder and sycamore, providing desperately needed water for the region. Now running over 50 miles long – from the suburbs of the San Fernando Valley to the ocean in Long Beach – the Los Angeles River flows through 14 cities and countless neighborhoods. When the Army Corps of Engineers initiated a flood control project in the late 1930s, they began the process of paving 80% of the River, creating the world’s largest storm drain. Over the ensuing decades, the River that had been the sole water supply for the City of Los Angeles before the Los Angeles Aqueduct was completed in 1913 almost disappeared from public consciousness. With the cement came a perceptual shift: the River no longer existed. Instead, it was a “flood control channel,” a no-man’s land, surrounded by fences and signs.
Green Wish – is a grassroots, non-profit organization that funds local, green organizations through customers’ small donations at local retailers. Put simply: We’re a charity that helps fund the green projects in your neighborhood!
Green Wish was founded in 2009 by actor/producer Raphael Sbarge, after the birth of his first child, “I was struck by how alive I suddenly felt as a father,” he explained. “Conversely, I also felt remarkably vulnerable and defenseless to protect this little person’s journey in a world as vast and complex as ours. I had to ask, ‘What can we do to contribute in any small way to leave the world a better place than when we found it?'”
The answer: Green Wish – we help people to support a movement – not just one organization, but multiple ones. When you donate to Green Wish, you’re actually helping numerous environmental groups, right in your own community.
Green Wish partners with local retailers, which place our donation cards right at their cash registers. Customers can “buy” and add Green Wish donations on to their purchase at the retailer.
These donations are collected by local Green Wish chapters and distributed regularly to area organizations that have been carefully vetted. The board of directors in each chapter evaluates and selects deserving organizations with track records of good work across the green spectrum, focusing on air, water, earth and environmental education. * Ninety cents of every dollar* goes to your local green groups.
We started in Los Angeles with a chapter supporting nine organizations in Southern California. We are spreading across the country with the ultimate goal to start Green Wish chapters across the country, all supporting groups in their communities.

Get ready to dance in the aisles at the Pantages for Motown the Musical from April 28 – June 7, 2015. It’s the Broadway hit that’s crossing America with the music that we all know from the Motown song that’s still heard today in hits from Rock to Soul. The smooth vocals and words that evoke pictures had to be embraced for the enjoyment of a new generation of theater goers. It’s very exciting to have Julius Thomas III and Allison Semmes playing the leading roles of Berry Gordy and Diana Ross with Nicholas Christopher as Motown the MusicalSmokey Robinson and Jarran Muse as Marvin Gaye.  Leon Outlaw, Jr. and Reed L. Shannon will portray Berry Gordy’s boyhood counterpart and the roles of young stars Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder.  Motown the Musical is directed by Charles Randolph-WrightMOTOWN THE MUSICAL and is the quintessential rags to riches true American dream story of Motown founder Berry Gordy’s journey from featherweight boxer to the heavyweight music mogul who launched the careers of Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson, Marvin Gaye and so many more.

Gosh this is one of the shows that just has me so excite! I remember hearing about the musical when it was in development and once it made the huge splash on Broadway interviews all Good Morning American and the MHP Show on MSNBC (among others). Listening to these talented artists perform got me excited to see them and I hoped and hoped that they’d come to Hollywood. So when the Pantages announced that this was part of the 2015 season it felt as if my prayers (and am sure other Motown fans) were answered!

I think a lot of people are looking forward to hearing music that evokes memories. I’ve been getting ready and had to follow them on Spotify for some Motown sound to tie me over till the show starts! Well It’s coming this week and listening to the music has brought tears to my eyes. The Motown sound takes me back to being a kid with my grandparents as they had parties and played in their own band with friends performing not only Jazz but music from the Supremes to Smokey Robinson to the Jackson 5. It’s  the music that evokes memories of childhood with my cool grandparents smoking and drinking while dancing with friends at backyard parties in my small town of Iowa. I know when I see the show that my minds eye will have me awash in memories that are dear to my heart.

Photo 2As Motown the Musical is on the road it’s also going to be heading across the pond to the UK for a run in Spring 2016 and for my New York friends it will be back to Broadway for Summer 2016.

I’m sure this is a popular show for music fans of all ages and if you haven’t bought a package head over to www.HollywoodPantages.com or www.Ticketmaster.com or call 800-982-2787 to check on available seats. You can always head over to the Hollywood Pantages Box Office (6233 Hollywood Boulevard) daily at 10am except for Holidays to purchase in person or day of show tickets.
