So excited to attend the Opening Night Gala with a special screening of Justin Lin’s ‘Better Luck Tomorrow‘ Thursday, April 27th at 7PM at the Egyptian Theatre

Better Luck Tomorrow (BLT): Never underestimate an over achiever. To his classmates and teachers, high-schooler Ben Manibag (Perry Shen) appears to be the “model” student: a perfectionist and overachiever, destined for nothing less than graduating at the top of his class and then attending a prestigious college. But underneath this persona is a darker side – Ben and his bored high-school buddies lead double lives, flying high in a world of petty crime and material excess in order to ease the pressures of “being perfect.” It’s a free-wheeling lifestyle that soon takes a downward spiral, leading to an unexpected end. An Official Selection at the Sundance Film Festival, Better Luck Tomorrow is a gripping, edgy and provocative film that rips the tranquil, well-manicured facade off of middle-class suburbia and cultural stereotypes.
Buy tickets to see the opening night film with JUSTIN LIN, SUNG KANG, JUSTIN CHON, KARIN ANNA CHEUNG, RODGER FAN, MATTHEW KNOWLES, AARON TAKAHASHI and more supporting diversity in film with the 2017 LA Asian Pacific Film Festival. The Gala is presenting the 15 year anniversary of Justin Lin’s ‘Better Luck Tomorrow’ in the original 35mm film that premiered at Sundance after Sept 11th and not the life affirming film that everyone expected. The story and cast is not what people expected from the Asian stars/director.

I did not realize that I had a giant hole in my heart ready to be filled by Dramaworld on Viki but after seeing the snippet I’m complete! This is so me that gets WAY too involved in my TV shows (especially animated … I still miss you Young Justice) so imagine my surprise that all this time my career calling is to be a facilitator! Opps I zoomed through the important parts. Viki is a online streaming of tv shows from around the world and they are premiering a new original series called ‘Dramaworld‘ about a dorky (I ASSUME I might be wrong but unlikely) K-Drama fan who’s transported into her favorite series to help the Woman get her dream man … hijinks will ensue and (am sure) mistaken identity! I’ve already fallen in love with this movie and am on pens and needles for the premier on April 17. Did I mention my new boyfriend is starring??? Justin Chon is darling in glasses but is a LITTLE too young for me so I’m breaking up with him for Sean Dulake . So excited to see this and hopefully I’ll get to interview the cast and creative team behind this cross-cultural comedy series.

What is the most exciting — and most terrifying — thing that can happen to a K-drama fanatic? Claire Duncan is a 20-year-old college student who finds her real life boring. Maybe that’s because she’s never looking up, instead having her nose buried in her smartphone and watching her favorite Korean drama, “Taste of Love,” starring her favorite actor Joon Park (Sean Dulake). Joon Park plays the hot chef and protagonists in “Taste of Love” who is still waiting for his one true love to come into his life. Through a touch of the supernatural and a sprinkle of magic, Claire’s desire to shed her own boring life and live in the world of “Taste of Love” comes true when she is transported into her favorite drama and comes face-to-face with Joon Park! There, Claire also meets the mysterious waiter Seth Ko, who made his own journey into the drama years ago from the real world and mentors Claire on how to navigate the drama world. When the appearance of Claire throws “Taste of Love” off-balance, causing other dramas to splice into the series, what kind of crazy adventure will Claire experience? “Dramaworld” is a 2016 Viki original series, produced in partnership. Set in Los Angeles and Seoul, the first-ever American-Korean mashup series is written by Josh Billig and Chris Martin and directed by Chris Martin.
