Amazon Prime Video has a San Diego Comic Con takeover with Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan Fan Experience!
The four day geekfest is giving Amazon the opportunity to bring old friends and introduce new ones to the international comic con! They have one panel with creators and cast members including Carlton Cuse, showrunner and Executive Producer of Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan; Ben Edlund creator of The Tick; Sam Esmail director of Homecoming; Neil Gaiman creator, writer, and showrunner of Good Omens; Gale Anne Hurd Executive Producer of Lore; and Naren Shankar showrunner of The Expanse. The second panel is with The Man in the High Castle Executive Producers Isa Dick Hackett and Daniel Percival; and cast members Alexa Davalos, Rufus Sewell, Jason O’Mara, and Stephen Root.
“We’re thrilled to bring such a diverse group of creators to SDCC and give fans an exclusive sneak peek at what’s to come for these highly-anticipated shows,” said Mike Benson, Head of Marketing, Amazon Studios. “Our activation for Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan is our most ambitious to date and will be one of the must-see events of Comic-Con.”
It’s not comic con without a great fan experience and Amazon is gong to introduce everyone to Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan premiering this August. The Jack Ryan immersive escape room experience will test your mettle to see if you have what it takes to be a hero!
Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan Fan Experience
At the Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan fan experience, Comic-Con attendees will step into the world of Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan and be thrust into a dangerous field assignment that turns them into unexpected heroes. Visitors will complete the Jack Ryan Training Field by infiltrating, fighting and evading the enemy to gain full field clearance. They will then use that training to help Jack Ryan himself in Dark Ops, a groundbreaking escape room that recreates the pilot episode of Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan. Attendees can also explore the Middle Eastern bazaar which has assignments to be completed at every turn, watch a live leaderboard and pick up some iconic Jack Ryan swag.
The Jack Ryan Training Field is a hyper-reality virtual reality spy experience where participants can prove they have what it takes to be a hero. Heroes in training will go through a series of thrilling true-to-life experiences including rappelling from a helicopter, traversing between dangerous high rise buildings, and zip-lining to ground level. Created with MediaMonks, the Jack Ryan Training Field stands over 30 feet tall and uses the latest Optitrack 4D and Oculus Rift technology to make visitors physically feel as if they were thrust into the action.
Dark Ops is a first of its kind escape room, created by AKQA and Unit 9, which lets participants live the first episode of Jack Ryan. Participants will be tasked with offering remote assistance to Jack Ryan in Dark Ops, where teams of rookie analysts will have to dig deep to uncover a plot of double-crossing, top secret information and an extremist plot set to be put in motion at any minute.
The Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan fan experience will take place Thursday, July 19 through Sunday, July 22 at the park located at the corner of 1st street and Martin Luther King Promenade – directly across from the San Diego Convention Center. It will be open daily from 9 am to 7 pm Thursday through Saturday, and 9 am to 5 pm on Sunday.

I’m counting the days down until the Starz premier of American Gods on Sunday, April 30th in the U.S., and Amazon Prime Video internationally on Monday, May 1st. While I’m waiting am curious as a cat about the Neil Gaiman deal has with Freemantle Media North America. The first look deal after the first season of ‘American Gods’ means that Neil will be getting a lot of new fans since the show looks GREAT!
AMERICAN GODS’ BILQUIS, ANCIENT GODDESS OF LOVE
“Neil Gaiman is one of the most distinctive writers of our time and we’ve been incredibly fortunate to be entrusted with his vision while adapting American Gods. Our experience together has proven more than collaborative – it’s a shared ambition to create, develop and produce singular, bespoke content. We couldn’t be happier to diversify and expand our relationship to future projects”, Craig Cegielski, co-CEO, FremantleMedia North America
I wonder what the next project will come a live on TV from the author? FMNA is expanding with more scripted TV projects and with a catalog as rich as Neil and the strides FX has made TV shows can rival a lot of films. The multi-year first look agreement is a continuation of working on ‘American Gods’ and will include not only his novels, short stores and more for TV. It will also allow the adaptation of 3rd party source material and intellectual properties and includes all of his work as a writer and producer with his Blank Corporation and Cat Mihos (Director of Development)
“Working with my friends at FremantleMedia on shepherding American Gods to the screen has been exciting and delightful way to spend the last three years. I’ve learned to trust them, and to harness their talents and enthusiasm, as they’ve learned to harness mine. They don’t mind that I love creating a ridiculously wide variety of things, and I am glad that even the strangest projects of mine will have a home with them. American Gods is TV nobody has seen before and I can’t wait to announce the specifics behind what we have coming up next”, Neil Gaiman
