The 2018 International Space Development Conference welcomes the stars and producers of ‘The Expanse’ to discuss the science of the series. The Expanse is a series that takes place in the future where mankind has conquered our solar system and spread but we learn we aren’t the only intelligent lifeforms after discovering the protomolocule. The series is a mix of humanity, special effects and the use of the true concepts of science and physics. It’s why it’s exciting that they are appearing at the West Coast gathering of the world’s greatest scientist, engineers, astronauts, and space entrepreneurs who have been inspired by science fiction greats from Star Trek to Star Wars to Doctor Who to Battlestar Galactica and future innovators will include The Expanse on that list. SYFY channel did not renew the series but passionate fans have launched a renew The Expanse campaign and have appealed to Amazon Video, Netflix, Hulu, and the Networks.

This year Jeff Bezos will be accepting the Gerard K. O’Neill Memorial Award for Space Settlement Advocacy at the 2018 ISDC hopefully they will cross paths and Mr. Bezos will choose to add The Expanse to the Amazon Prime lineup. The Expanse fandom is looking at numerous streaming platforms to renew the science fiction series with a 100% approval on Rotten Tomatoes the SyFy #1 series is still seeking a new home in our galaxy! What’s the video you plan to submit?  What does Pi mean to you?  My favorite is apple <tee hee>, cherry (it’s my NAME!) and apple with a slice of cheddar and vanilla ice cream .  I know they mean the mathematical equation but it SOUNDS like PIE and I do love sweets and Comic Con!

In case your curious about Course of the Force and how, what & why!  Don’t forget I’m walking on Sunday at 3PM in Redondo Beach!  Wahooo

CH and TRs for COTF

In an origin tale that’s a little bit like Darth Vader’s but much funnier, Nerdist Industries, Octagon, Lucasfilm and Industrial Light & Magic have teamed up to bring Star Wars fans throughout the galaxy an all-new short film to enlighten them on the Course of the Force narrative. Starring Chris Hardwick and written by Saturday Night Live producers Erik Kenward and Scott Weinstein, this comedic tale also features notables from the Star Wars universe including Boba Fett, Tusken Raiders and Ewoks as you’ve never seen them before. (*Spoiler Alert: The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman makes a cameo as Hardwick’s nemesis!)

To benefit The Make-A-Wish Foundation, Nerdist Industries has partnered with Lucasfilm and Octagon to put forth The Course of the Forcea charity relay in which a custom lightsaber will be handed off from runner to runner making their way down the California coast from the Santa Monica Pier to the San Diego Comic-Con International. Hardwick and co-hosts Alison Haislip, Alex Albrecht and Ashley Eckstein will ride among the participants in a giant replica of Jabba the Hutt’s Sail Barge from Return of the Jedi. Evening stops will feature mini “Con-ivals” with sponsors such as eBay, State Farm, Shoebacca, OtterPops, Hasbro, gogo, Play Mechanix and more. The event culminates in a live concert by The Dan Band at 12:30pm on Wednesday, July 11th at San Diego’s Balboa Theatre.

Nerdist Industries’ huge presence at San Diego Comic-Con International also includes The Nerdist Panel on Saturday, July 14th at 12pm. In the Indigo Ballroom of the Hilton San Diego Bayfront Hotel, Chris Hardwick will talk about all Nerdist-centric goings on for 2012 and beyond with guests including Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson, Gary “Baba Booey” Dell’Abate, Alex Albrecht and Alison Haislip

Don’t let the Dark Side win – share the video, visit the website and keep up with The Course of the Force, all while supporting a great cause.  Keep an eye out for the official Course of the Force bus and Jabba’s Sail Barge along Highway 1 from July 7th through the 11th… and may the Course of the Force be with you!

I’m so excited that Nerdist and George Lucas has given US (Star Wars Geeks) the Course of the Force!  I’m even MORE excited since I was able to get to join the relay on Sunday at 3pm in Redondo Beach where I plan to have a super crazy home made costume!  I don’t want to say since I’m still putting it together but will give you a clue.  Wookie, Vines, Ewoks and green .. hmm it’s KILLING you and if you want to see what I look like run to Redondo Beach on Sunday!

Course of the Force, the inaugural Star Wars™ lightsaber relay, begins Saturday on the Santa Monica Pier at 10:00 a.m. with a free event for the public. The complete schedule July 7-11 can be found below.

The public can come out to the Santa Monica Pier starting at 10:00 a.m. to enjoy live music by the Spazmatics (http://perfectworldentertainment.com/thespazmatics.php), appearances and autographs by Star Wars characters including actor Peter Mayhew who played Chewbacca. There will also be giveaways by event sponsors and merchandise and concessions for sale.

At 1:00 p.m. Chris Hardwick and a crew of kids from Make-A-Wish will run the first segment of the inaugural Course of the Force from the Santa Monica Pier.

All media are encouraged to attend the kickoff event on the Pier. Please contact Adam Harris for more information.

Star Wars™ fans will have a chance to channel their Force of goodwill while raising a lightsaber, an elegant symbol of hope, in an epic journey worthy of the Jedi Knights. Course of the Force, an Olympic torch style relay run with a lightsaber will travel down the Southern California coast July 7-11, in the days leading up to the San Diego Comic Con International®. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Make-A-Wish® chapters of San Diego, Greater Los Angeles and Orange County and the Inland Empire.

This isn’t your typical running race, either. Course of the Force is all about Star Wars enthusiasts celebrating their love of the Saga. Runners will pass off a custom Hasbro Ultimate FX Lightsaber at quarter-mile markers and are encouraged to come decked out in their best Star Wars and pop-culture themed costumes.

The event is held in partnership with Lucasfilm, Ltd., Nerdist Industries and Octagon to raise proceeds for Make-A-Wish® Foundation.

RELEASED TODAY: Special Course of the Force Preview Video

Course of the Force, in partnership with Lucasfilm, has released a Star Wars-themed short film today. Written by Broadway Video (SNL, 30 ROCK, PORTLANDIA) writers, the film was shot at Industrial Light and Magic and is the ‘origin’ story of the Course of the Force as Chris Hardwick carries the lightsaber from ILM to the Santa Monica Pier to kick of the event. It’s a fun, high-quality video that features R2D2, Boba Fett, Ewoks and Tusken Raiders and a cameo from The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman.
