The San Jose Renaissance Faire and Fantasy Fest will include educational shows, performances, demos, costume contests, games and Artists and authors of the fantasy world will be attending. You can also enjoy shopping with delicious food, fantastical fashion, jewelry, swords, leather corsets, masks and many more handmade crafts that can be used to create the fantasy style of your dreams (it’s also a great opportunity to purchase items for cosplay and steampunk). Have your fortune told, rekindle your love by Sleeping Beauty’s coffin or help Hansel and Gretel find their way home. Hold court with princesses, untangle Rapunzel’s locks and play a game of wits with Rumpelstiltskin. Swap tales with the pirates or listen to bards telling stories of battles and adventures of the netherworld.
Visitors need not dress the part or be fluent in the Elfish tongue, but period costumes always add to the magic and make it more fun to play. All are welcome!
“The blend of history and fantasy provides a welcome distraction from the doldrums of mundane and San Jose is a magnificent background for this terrific production. We are creating a world steeped in history and fairy tale alike; fantastic, far-away places; and the symbolism and ideology of magic fit for the whole family,” said Marta Miernik, CEO of Renaissance Productions and Producer of the San Jose Fantasy Faire. “The event is a rare must-see for families, bringing adults and kids together, each in turn will find something that will appeal to them in this production.”
