“SHARKNADO” STUDIO TAKES CINEMARK THEATRES BY STORM, LAUNCHING “THURSDAY NIGHTS AT THE ASYLUM“
The Asylum co-founder David Michael Latt adds, “I’ll be front and center every week as the biggest fan of all, there‘s nothing else that can duplicate the theatrical experience. For Cinemark movie goers, we‘re bringing back the thrill of drive-ins and Grindhouse cinema with this chance to see unapologetic and completely original films.

I’m a huge fan of geek movies so was very excited to hear that Asylum studio is weekly late night theatrical movie series with Cinemark Theatres starting September 28th in theaters across the country. The weekly series will be a curated selection of underground and homegrown horror, thriller, sci-fi and cult cinema (tickets: Cinemark.com/asylum). This series will offer attendees a chance to meet filmmakers, the studio and win signed merchandise and other promotions that might have a lucky fan win a walk on role in an Asylum film.
Since this is the studio that has brought you Sharknado they will have a special Sharknado 5: Global Swarming screening on November 16 with the cast and crew appearing. The series will be affordable fun in college markets that will appeal to film fans of all ages. Cinemark is offering $5 general admission tickets or $10 premium ticket (including digital download of the movie). The experience for some attendees won‘t end at the theater! After each screening, movie goers who purchase a the Premium Ticket will own the movie forever by digitally downloading the film available on its home video release. I’m excited to attend the 5th Annual Comikaze Expo Weekend from October 30 to November 1st this fall! This is the little comic con that is fun for casual geeks looking to explore the con lifestyle as well experienced cosplayers who want a casual vibe. Can I just say that I REALLY wish I was rich and had won the Lotto a few months ago? So many items that I grew up loving that I really really want to have in my collection. Especially the Leonard Nimoy signed photo with William Shatner now I’ll never meet Mr. Spock! My only comfort is that I’m going to the Star Wars celebration in a month.
