The new short 8 part film series Queers will premier October 14th to bring awareness to the 50th Anniversary of the Sexual Offenses Act. The Sexual Offenses Act partial decriminalized homosexual acts between men in the UK. Mark Gatiss (Sherlock) directed and curated the film series with award winners Alan Cumming, Ben Whishaw, Rebecca Front, Russell Tovey, Gemma Whelan, Ian Gelder, Kadiff Kirwan and Fionn Whitehead. Taking in 1957’s Wolfenden Report, the HIV crisis and the 1967 Sexual Offence Act itself, the eight monologues will explore some of the most poignant, funny, tragic and riotous moments of British gay history and the very personal rites-of-passage of British gay men through the last one hundred years.

Sarah Barnett, BBC AMERICA President, commented, “Queers is a unique and affecting series of short films about the British Gay experience. Brilliantly written and performed, these monologues may be compact but they are brimful of humor, heartbreak, joy, humanity and tenderness.”

In The Man On The Platform, Ben Whishaw (London Spy, Spectre) returns from the trenches of the First World War, while a hundred years later, Alan Cumming (The Good Wife) reflects on gay marriage in Something Borrowed.

More Anger finds Russell Tovey (Him and Her, Being Human) playing a gay actor in the 1980s, and Rebecca Front (War and Peace, Humans) contemplates her very particular marriage in Missing Alice.

Gemma Whelan (Game of Thrones, Decline and Fall), Kadiff Kirwan (Black Mirror, Chewing Gum), Ian Gelder (Snatch, Game of Thrones) and Fionn Whitehead (Dunkirk, HIM) appear respectively in A Perfect Gentleman, Safest Spot In Town, I Miss The Warand A Grand Day Out, each examining the very different attitudes and social changes in gay men’s lives over the century.

The films are written by Matthew Baldwin, Jon Bradfield, Michael Dennis, Keith Jarrett, and Gareth McLean, who are writing for television for the first time, alongside established screenwriters Jackie Clune, Brian Fillis and Gatiss himself.

The series is produced by BBC Studios Pacific Quay Productions and is a co-production of BBC and BBC AMERICA.

It’s such a pleasure to see someone use their fame to leverage it for good and EJ working with Chrome Girl makes perfect sense as the stylish young man is in charge of using fashion for self expression! I LOVED the camouflage style he and his crew were rocking that compliments this limited edition color.

It was fun and so individual reflecting each personality! I might have go pick up a pair of camo pants to freshen up my wardrobe for the summer!

Cherry Davis, Steve Gallindo, the Style Guyd and Pia Gladys Perey, Fashion Designer

Steve Gallindo, the Style Guyd and Pia Gladys Perey, Fashion Designer came and tried out the new polish at the Nail Bar & Beauty Lounge with the entire cast of Rich Kids of Beverly Hills supporting their friend.       Steve, Pia and I went green and have to say that it’s NOT just for St. Patrick’s Day! This color complimented all three of our skin tones so don’t hesitate to support LGBT kids to get off the street AND be fashionable! I especially loved Steve’s French Manicure for those who just want to test such a vibrant rich shade. The Nail Bar & Beauty Lounge staff manicurist even suggested great ideas to keep my manicure looking my best! I will have to go back before Wondercon at the end of the month for some geek nail art using EJ’s ChromeGirl Jade Polish. I LOVED the yummy food and the Sprinkles cupcakes with the ChromeGirl polish on it <yummy>. IMG_5763IMG_5760Refreshments included champagne with H2Rose that comes in Apple, Wild Berry, Peach and Mango. All ending with my fingers dancing on the red carpet AND a lovely goody bag from Chrome Girl that has their Genie Remover Pads Piña Colada scent so the party doesn’t stop when I change nail color! You might even see me dancing on a show!

Myths, Monsters and Legends

Longtime friends and art-world bigwigs Rankin and Damien Hirst turn their attention to the ancient world for this collaborative show that will head to London after its Los Angeles debut. Not sure what to expect? Think bright colors and creepy images.
Rankin and Damien Hirst Present
Myths, Monsters & Legends

Rankin Gallery
Los Angeles

13th October – 5th Nov

Long-term friends, Rankin and artist Damien Hirst, leverage their respective creative mediums and shared dark wit in a project born out of a joint fascination with the ancient world, and an interest in contextualising it in a modern environment.
Model, Dani Smith, was the inspiration in bringing their shared vision to life.
The project is an exploration of imagined narratives and monsters of past civilizations, viewed through a modern lens. 4768 6 016n 2 copy
