Hello my name is Cherry and I'm the founder of CherryLosAngeles and a member of the African American Film Critics Association. I started my geek life as a child raised watching old Dr. Who, original Star Trek, Star Wars, comic books, and animation with my family. I attended Iowa State University and studied Political Science with a minor in communication/advertising. After I graduated I criss-crossed the USA before settling into my adopted home state of CA. Along the way I worked on political campaigns, higher education, Peace Corps hdq and medical fields. I started the blog a few years after moving to Los Angeles after attending San Diego Comic Con and was recruited to contribute to CNNiReport.
