Sweetwater, a new sports biopic about Nat “Sweetwater” Clifton, a Harlem Globetrotter who became the first African-American to sign an NBA contract, arrives in theaters this week. Cherry the Geek TV spoke to Martin Guigui, the film’s writer/director, about the decades-long journey to get the film to the big screen.

Everett Osborne stars in the film as Nat “Sweetwater” Clifton. Other cast includes Cary Elwes, Jeremy Piven, Richard Dreyfuss, Jim Caviezal, Eric Roberts, and Kevin Pollack.
Sweetwater opens in theaters everywhere April 14th.
