Blake Lively is starring in The Husband’s Secret

The next project from New York Times best-selling author Liane Moriarty (Big Little Lies) will be ‘The Husband’s Secret’. Blake Lively will be staring in the film from CBS Films being produced by Chris Weitz, Paul Weitz & Andew Miano and seeking potential directors to join the project. This will be a major role departure for Lively from The Shallows and the Cafe Society.

Lively will star as Cecilia Fitzpatrick, who’s life in the suburbs is rocked when she finds a note from her husband with instructions to open in the event of his death. Despite her husband being a live her curiosity put her on a path to learn the truth about her life that isn’t the picture perfect surburban life she thought it’s instead fueled by lies and murder.

CBS Films acquired the book in 2013 before the release of the hit HBO series but with the success of the Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman and Shailane Woodley series the film has been given the green light and is a major priority for the producers and CBS Films.

“Liane Moriarty has established herself as one of the defining voices of the modern woman, and Blake Lively’s unique combination of vulnerability, strength and extraordinary talent makes her the perfect actress to realize Moriarty’s creation,” said CBS Films president Terry Press.
