What’s The Story, Wishbone?, a new documentary that delves into the history, and fandom of the hit 1990s PBS kids series about the world’s most read canine, is now airing on PBS stations around the country.

Cherry the Geek TV moderated a fantastic discussion with the documentary team that brought the film to life, all of whom also played part in the making of the orginal series as well.

We spoke with the film’s director Joey Stewart (who started on the series as a 2nd AD, before quickly getting promoted to 1st Assistant Director), Emmy and Peabody-Award winning Producer Betty Buckley, and Executive Producer Larry Brantley (who also voiced Wishbone in the PBS series).

They discussed the history of the show, told tales about Soccer–the canine perfomer who played Wishbone, and talked about making the documentary to celebrate the show’s 30th Anniversary.

What’s The Story, Wishbone? is airing from now until June 9th on PBS stations around the country (check your local listings for air dates and times in your local market), and will be available to buy and rent of VOD platforms starting June 10th.
