Best Musical, Grammy, and Tony award-winning Broadway Musical is coming for 5 days to select theatres
I have heard of this musical and wanted to see it on Broadway, but I haven’t been able to go to NYC to see a show for a few years. So, like many who have never seen Hadestown and are unable to fly or travel back in time, this special screening on my ‘Must See List’. So get ready for popcorn, soda, and me in comfy joggers for a night of culture, music, costume and imaginative set design.
Hearing the music from the talented cast reminds me that I wish I had the gift to join a show. Just kidding, I’d get stage fright, so I’m excited to see at my favorite theatre with my Theatre Kid friends this coming July 24th!
The live theater capture of the hit musical Hadestown, which won eight Tony Awards in 2019, including Best Musical and the 2020 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album, features the five original principals of the Broadway company. The genre-defying musical blends modern American folk music with New Orleans-inspired jazz to reimagine a sweeping ancient tale.
Following two intertwining love stories — that of young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice, and that of King Hades and his wife Persephone — Hadestown invites audiences on a hell-raising journey to the underworld and back.
