Grimm the Beginning of the End Season Finale Review

Black Claw has come out the shadow in the two part season finale of Grimm ‘The Beginning of the End’ and boy the last scene left me shaken. I’ve been watching Grimm since the first season where I fell in love with a good cop discovering that he’s a grimm and what that means to him as a person. It’s been a long road over the past five seasons as Nick has transformed from a ‘Cop Grimm’ to the Grimm nightmare of Wessen who cuts heads off before questions. It’s why as the Black Claw movement went from a glimmer in the corner of the eye to a full fledged revolution I can’t help but sympathize with them. Not all Wessen are evil and often Nick and the team take the law in their own hands.

“Beginning of the End”

A DEADLY SHOWDOWN IS ON THE HORIZON AS BLACK CLAW TIGHTENS ITS GRIP ON PORTLAND — SHAUN TOUB, DAMIEN PUCKLER, JACQUELINE TOBONI AND HANNAH R. LOYD GUEST STAR — Black Claw makes a strategic move against Hank (Russell Hornsby) that shocks everyone and sends Nick (David Giuntoli) on a war path. Hadrian’s Wall ramps up their investigation as they seek out a mysterious man named Bonaparte (guest star Shaun Toub). Meanwhile, Adalind (Claire Coffee) and Capt. Renard (Sasha Roiz) must learn to deal with their new and very unpredictable reality with Diana (guest star Hannah R. Loyd). Bitsie Tulloch, Silas Weir Mitchell, Reggie Lee and Bree Turner also star.

I don’t want to give away the end but the finally has left me full of questions! How will co-parenting work with a hexenbeast, a grimm and zauberbeast? Will Adalind decided to have a traditional family or return to the man she’s grown to love? How will Capt. Renard and Adelind deal with a mischievous child who has such a power?

Am I the only one that thinks the Wessen should move to Utah or Wyoming a less populated state and just buy a lot of land? I mean that would be a lot less bloodshed.

All your childhood monsters are alive and well living it up on Grimm!

So in case you may not realize it I’m a total geek and proud of it!  As a geek I fell in love with a show last season called Grimm.   You may not have seen it (if you did you missed a GREAT first season) but fear not you can watch episodes on line (Grimm) at and on DVD.  Now in case you want MY synopsis of this great drama sprinkled with dark fairy dust.  It starts with a police detective in Portland, OR named Nick Burkhardt who’s living the American dream.  A gorgeous home, pretty girlfriend, best friend/detective partner and a career that is leading him up the ladder but one night his beloved aunt appears back in his life and she’s brought a trailer full of trouble with her!  He learns that he’s a Grimm from out of the old dark fairy tales and that all the things that go bump in the night have claws all the better to rend and tear human flesh.  As the season progresses you get to know his friends, his enemies and all the creatures who share the world with us from dragons to man eating spiders to … well the big bad wolf!  Not all of them are are bad and some turn out to be his friends and allies in protecting the innocent.

Now the new season is starting on Monday, August 13th after the final Olympic Game on NBC and I want to tell you what I’ve learned over the summer about the show from cast and creators who I was very excited to interview at the 2012 San Diego Comic Con.  One of the coolest things I saw was the Portland immersion experience that was set up.  You got to explore the dark, moody and foggy forest of Portland that than led you down the path (where was my Red Hood?) to Nick’s most secret possession.  The airbus trailer his aunt left him with all the passed down knowledge of his Grimm ancestors.  Luck you get to see it through my eyes since I took video and photos of the tour just for those who weren’t able to make it to San Diego this year and it can be found on cherrylosangeles @youtube tour of the Grimm Trailer.

My interview with the cast of Grimm will give major insight into the upcoming season as well as just the sheer fun of working on such a great show!  I spoke with a few of the cast members who were just as excited about the new season as all the fans!

Silas Weir Mitchell who plays Monroe, a reformed Blutbat, who is Nick’s reluctant informant.

Bitsie Tulloch plays Juliette Silverton, Nick’s (David Giuntoli) loyal girlfriend, who is wary of his recent forays into the Grimm world.

Sasha Roiz plays Captain Renard, Nick’s politically adept superior officer and a descendant of a powerful line of Grimm royalty.
