The housing market is terrifying in the upcoming horror book ‘The September House’ from new author Carissa Orlando to be released this September 5, 2023.
Carissa’s debut asks the question would you move if your house is full of ghosts? In this market? I don’t think so! Readers will get to know Margaret a woman determined to stay in her dream home!
The book starts with Margaret knowing the house is haunted and decides to stay despite walls dripping blood in September, ghosts, and something in the basement that’s lurking. Despite it all Margaret won’t move and after four years Hal leaves her and the haunted house. Her daughter Katherine comes home looking for her dad who won’t respond to her calls. It’s the haunting season of September and with Hal’s disappearance, it has gotten worse as the house wants to keep secrets hidden.
THE SEPTEMBER HOUSE is “an eerie, darkly funny, and emotionally grounded book about the ghosts that haunt houses and marriages.”GRADY HENDRIX, NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLING AUTHOR
By day, Orlando works to improve the quality and access to mental health care for children and families, and THE SEPTEMBER HOUSE was born out of her desire to write a story about the trauma that was written both accurately and with empathy. The result is a nontraditional horror story about the things we will do to survive unspeakable situations and the different ways a person can be haunted.
