Nashville is giving fans the holiday gift of a sneak preview of the premiere on Thursday, December 15th at 9PM ET/PT before the Season 5 starts January.

Like a lot of fans I flipped when ABC announced they would not renew the series that left so many unanswered question but when fans called out the city of Nashville and CMT picked up the show and now we get to find out what is in store for a loving but dysfunctional characters. I mean watching Maddie manipulated by her Svengali adult friend into declaring herself an adult, tossing her to the nefarious producer that was just about to take advantage of the teen before her father Deacon swooped in like an avenging night .. well <zoinks> that was some major nighttime soap drama that will keep me tuning into the new season.
We catch up with Rayna and Deacon as Maddie is back home trying to navigate womanhood, ambition and independence while still being a teenager. It looks like Maddie has a new crush with a young black boy or man (he looks like he’s age appropriate) but I hope Rayna and Deacon don’t ignore their youngest daughter as the deal with their wild child! Of course Rayna still has to juggle Highway 65 that isn’t the successful label she had hoped especially when her marque star Juliette has lost some of her luster. Juliette has always been a spitfire dealing with a difficult childhood, bad taste in men and hair trigger temper. But Juliette is still reeling from her post partum depression, messy divorce and if she will survive the plane.
Well as a fan I have no idea what drama awaits us but I know we’ll have great music as we enjoy the return of Nashville with tears, screams and choosing sides! I’m Team Juliette all the way!

In addition, the upcoming season will feature Joseph David-Jones as Clay, Rhiannon Giddens as Hallie Jordan, Jen Richards as Allyson Del Lago, and Cameron Scoggins as Zach Welles in recurring roles.
