Karen Pittman (Mia Jordan) talks about representation, acting, and the business

I was delighted to join the AAFCA Roundtable interview with Karen Pittman star of The Morning Show streaming on AppleTV+. This was the first of the year and first for me as a recent member of the African American Film Critic Association.

I’m a huge fan of the series and cast but I have been fascinated by the storylines of women of color, changing loyalty amongst staff, how women navigate the workplace, and what they have to deal with for their jobs.

This season Mia Jordan we were able to learn more about her personal life, jockeying for power and finding her team as they all try to keep their jobs and get more recognition.

The Morning Show” explores the cutthroat world of morning news and the lives of the people who help America wake up in the morning. In season three, the future of the network is thrown into question, and loyalties are pushed to the brink when a tech titan takes an interest in UBA. Unexpected alliances form, private truths are weaponized and everyone is forced to confront their core values both in and out of the newsroom.

Cast: Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, Billy Crudup, Mark Duplass, Nestor Carbonell, Karen Pittman, Greta Lee, Jon Hamm, Nicole Beharie & Julianna Margulies

Executive Producers: Charlotte Stout, Mimi Leder, Michael Ellenberg, Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon & Lauren Levy Neustadter
