You had me at ‘NAH’ Terry Richmond (Aaron Pierre) now kick some evil bootie!
OH MY GOB I think this is the most excited I’ve been for a Netflix movie in a while. Rebel Ridge story, cast, hero <swoon worthy>, and righteous revenge have me counting down the days! Take my money I’m renewing for another month! Terry Richmond (Aaron Pierre) is my new action hero and I already want a sequel! When I watched the trailer I was on the edge of my seat <well couch> because I was mesmerized and at the end … I yelled heck yes!
My eyes are on Arraon Pierre but Don Johnson playing an evil-crocked sheriff heck yes! I’m looking forward to the tall drink of evil that starts the fight by stealing the money and the woman cop that tricks me for a moment <sigh> unity loss! Just kidding am so excited to see what this stacked cast will do in Rebel Ridge but it looks like lots of punches, flips, gunfire, and mayhem! Just like I like it in my action movies!
The story of a man trying to bail his brother out from a small town filled with cops using the badge like a sledgehammer to terrorize folk and then the mess with the WRONG one! Yahoo is the action movie I didn’t realize I needed.
I do have a weakness for an action hero that’s like a Swiss army knife but full of deadly surprises and weapon/fighting aptitude. I am very happy that from the trailer they have the fight scenes well lit so you can see from every angle. The action scene choreographer knew what they were doing because it’s a violent dance that looks so good with stuntmen/women who kept the action going so well that I felt like was watching John Woo for the first time.
Jeremy Saulnier is the writer/director of the film and I’m not sure what the inspiration or influences but all I can say is ‘your doing good sweetie’. I can’t wait for September 6th to watch with a soda and buttery popcorn but it’s a movie date for me.
SYNOPSIS | Terry Richmond (Aaron Pierre) enters the town of Shelby Springs on a simple but urgent mission– post bail for his cousin and save him from imminent danger. But when Terry’s life’s savings are unjustly seized by law enforcement, he’s forced to go head-to-head with local police chief Sandy Burnne (Don Johnson) and his combat-ready officers. Terry finds an unlikely ally in court clerk Summer McBride (AnnaSophia Robb) and the two become ensnared in a deep-rooted conspiracy within the remote township. As the stakes turn deadly, Terry must call upon his mysterious background to break the department’s hold on the community, bring justice to his own family– and protect Summer in the process.
