See Brandy in Chicago at the Pantages

Am so excited that Brandy is going to play Roxie Hart at the Pantages! I can’t believe the little girl who sang ‘I wanna be down’ is down for this sexy Broadway tour! I’m sure that her voice will add a new dimension to Roxie.

I might have to read the book by Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse and of course I already know the  music by John Kander and lyrics by Fred Ebb.

It’s exciting that Brandy Norwood who made her Broadway debut as “Roxie Hart” from April 28th through August 2nd 2015 in a limited run on Broadway.  I met Brandy with her multi-platinum  self-titled debut album and got to know her as the star of ‘Moesha’. She made history starring in Disney’s Cinderella as its first black princess with Whitney Houston. Not that she’s rested on her laurels she’s been putting out music and starring in TV shows with winning at 2014 NAACP Image Award playing Chardonnay on BET’s ‘The Game’.

Her next project is a new series called ‘Zoe Ever After’ on BET where she plays Zoe Moon (Norwood). It’s a comedy that focuses on Zoe as she navigates life as a divorcee from a famous boxer as she forges a new path of dating, being a single mom and being the ‘boss’ of her own cosmetic line! Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is coming to the Pantages June 2014

JosephDianaAceHorizontalI’m pretty excited that Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is coming to the Pantages next summer from June 3 – 22rd and the announced stars are DIANA DeGARMO and ACE YOUNG for the three week show.  It should be a blast since this play is on my ‘list’ of broadway shows to see.  It’s a classic that has withstood the test of time with great costumes and music.

If you haven’t seen or heard of this family friendly classic musical it’s about the trials and triumphs of Joseph, Israel’s favorite son.  This the very first collaboration of Andrew Lloyd Webber (Jesus Christ Superstar, Phantom of the Opera, Cats) and Tim Rice (Jesus Christ Superstar, The Lion King), the perfect harmonious blend of music genres from pop to country to rock all with a joyous spirit that embodies a coat of many colors!

I’m sure that the chemistry will jump off the stage since the two stars are happily married!   Ace Young and Diana DeGarmo first met for the 2009 Hair revival on Broadway.   “I am so excited to star as ‘Joseph’ alongside Diana,” said Ace.  “It’s great to be back! I too am so excited to star alongside Ace in the very role I once looked up to years ago as a child in the choir,” added Diana.

You can purchase tickets for JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT now as long as you are a Pantages Season Ticket holder at or by calling the Season Ticket office at 866-755-2929 (Mon – Fri; 9:30am – 5:30pm).   If you currently haven’t purchased season tickets you can go to the site and buy for the upcoming season that is full of hits that will get your toe tapping!

The performance schedule for JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT is Tuesday through Friday at 8pm, Saturday at 2pm & 8pm, and Sunday at 1pm & 6:30pm.  Opening Night is Tuesday June 3rd at 8pm and orchestra level tickets start at just $25.  The Pantages will announce when tickets go on sale for this show.

Fashion Forward with Katie!

I’m 50 not DEAD!

Embedded image permalinkFashion is for every age not just the pretty young things in the fashion magazines.  One of the great things about Katie Couric is that she’s always been fashionable and stylish, but age appropriate.

She has a new daytime talk show premiering today Monday, September 10, 2012 that will be broadcast live from New York with a studio audience and will be aired at 3 p.m. in most markets, produced and distributed by Disney-ABC.  I caught her on the Chew (ABC) and saw these fun photos she took with the cast on twitter.  I LOVE that she’s looking so sassy with my girl Carla Hall! I was wonder what she’ll be changing into for her premier episode this afternoon.  I was curious so I checked out her pinterest page to get an idea of what she might be wearing.  I love that it’s going to be dresses and separates, perfect for a woman who has to dress business casual but is still feminine!  Everything from camel to POC (pops of color), choices that are appealing to a wide range of women from petite to plus sizes.  Looking at what’s on her page I want to buy EVERYTHING!  A colorful trench coat, wide legged pants, great fall handbags and the dresses are to die for!  I’m so happy that Katie will be wearing dresses to remind women we don’t have to dress like a man to be professional!  I’m tired of suits and being made to feel like I’m not professional if I’m wearing a fashionable outfit!

Heck fashion is for everybody!  New mothers, Plus size beauties, women battling health issues and well women all of ages want to look good.  Looking pretty cheers everyone up!  I was so happy to see photos of Cheryl Crow and Jessica Simpson all made up looking like a million bucks.  I can’t believe that Sheryl Crow sang Michael Jackson!!! Who doesn’t love a little tee hee in the morning?  I wonder what classic song she sang of Michaels to get the crowd pumped up?  Jessica Simpson is looking really good after having her baby.  I am really impressed with how weight watchers helped to get her back on track to get fit.  I know so many people (men and women) who’ve lost weight and MAINTAINED the weight loss.  I can’t wait for Katie to ask Jessica how she’s juggling new motherhood with the support of family, working out, her business and love life.

‘This Day’ by Sheryl Crow is the theme song for Katie’s new talk show and it sums up my attitude about being a professional, fashionable woman.  This day, I’m going to wear what I want to work, be feminine, professional and still be a woman just like Katie!
