President Obama believes that no veteran should have to fight for a job at home after they fight for our nation overseas. The American Jobs Act includes two tax credits that would benefit firms that hire unemployed veterans and veterans with service-connected disabilities. But our unemployed veterans can’t wait for Congress to act, so the Obama Administration has created the following resources to help veterans translate their military skills for the civilian workforce and provide veterans with new tools to aid their search for jobs:

Employers looking to hire veterans

The Veterans Job Bank connects unemployed veterans to job openings with companies that want to hire them. The Obama Administration partnered with leading job search companies to create a new, easy to use online service that enables employers to “tag” job postings for veterans. It launched with more than 500,000 job listings, a number that will continue growing as more companies tag the job postings on their own websites and add them to the Veterans Job Bank.

My Next Move for Veterans is an easy-to-use online tool created by the Department of Labor that allows veterans to enter information about their experience and skills in the field, and match it with civilian careers that put that experience to use. The site also includes information about salaries, apprenticeships, and other related education and training programs.

The Veteran Gold Card provides post-9/11 veterans with extra support as they transition out of the military. Once a veteran has downloaded the Veteran Gold Card, he or she can access six months of personalized case management, assessments and counseling at the roughly 3,000 One-Stop Career Centers located across the country.

We the People Takes the Next Step: Responding to Your Petitions | The White House

I’m so excited that the White House is finally taking the fight to the people!  President Obama can’t get our country back on track by himself especially when members of the Congress and Senate are vocal about their hope for him/his policies to fail.  Don’t they realize that their refusal to enact his policies, to work together to get people back to work and to make plans the future of our country means they are making US (the People) to fail??!!!!

We the People Takes the Next Step: Responding to Your Petitions

Today, one of President Obama’s top education advisors, Roberto Rodriguez, issued the first response to a petition created through We the People. Here are the first few lines:

Thank you for taking the time to participate in the “We the People” petition process. We launched this online tool as a way of hearing directly from you, and are pleased that you have responded by presenting this idea.

We agree that reducing the burden of student loans is an effective way to stimulate the economy and save taxpayer dollars. That’s why we’re excited to announce a new policy that speaks to the concerns expressed in this petition.

In the little more than a month since the White House launched We the People, 755,000 people used the platform to create or sign more than 12,400 petitions that have gathered over 1.2 million total signatures (some people sign multiple petitions). Click on link for more details:

President Obama Has Ended the War in Iraq | The White House.

Did you see that the president has announced he’s kept ANOTHER promise to end the war and bring our troops home?  I’m so shocked that I can’t even write a single word.  I’ll have to post more once my mind gets around this huge shock!!!
